I practice therapy founded on the trust that there is a natural healing capacity that is always attempting to offer you vital messages to direct you in recovering your whole story. As an alternative to distraction, I offer skillful and compassionate companionship, and a set of tools (including EFT, EMDR, Mindfulness, and Depth Relational Therapy) to allow you to turn towards, not away from what hurts.
I first teach methods of calming your body-mind to get relief from current pain and to increase your ability to notice your inner voices. After we have born witness to all that is needing to be heard within you, we then integrate these inner voices with the others in your world, and set goals to actualize insights into daily living.
EFT Emotion Focused Couples Therapy is a short-term, systematic, and tested approach to reducing distress in adult love relationships by creating more secure bonds of healthy interdependency and mutuality of care.
EMDR Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprogramming is a therapy approach specifically designed to help resolve traumatic memories, events and relationships that were too much for your nervous system to adequately process of at the time that they occurred. I have been trained in EMDR Level II.
Mindfulness Mindfulness is an innate capacity of the mind that can be developed to allow you to pay full attention in the present moment with an inner attitude of precision, kindness, and letting go.
Depth Relational Therapy A relationship with a trained therapist encourages our deepest hopes, fears and expectations about relating to others to come into play. Their coming forward into shared awareness will allow you a unique opportunity to revise out-dated views of the restricted roles you play in your relationship to yourself, to others, and to life.
